Shawnigan Improvement District (SID), is the governing body of the Shawnigan Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
SID is administered by an elected Board of Trustees, one of whom has the additional duty of Chair. Each Trustee is elected for a three-year term by the eligible landowners of SID.
Trustees have several roles including that of community representative, steward of public service, policy-maker and law-maker.
The purpose of this website is to provide information to the public about SID, including matters of governance, new projects, and links to important information.
As SID serves and takes pride in its community, a brief overview of the Shawnigan Lake area is also provided.
